Bantry House Ireland
The Bantry House - an old home in Bantry Ireland near the Sheepshead peninsula. Filled with antiques and stories from the past. Captain Richard White and his family moved from Limerick to Whiddy Island in Bantry Bay in 1690 and purchased Bantry House (then called Blackrock House) in 1739. Today, the eighth and ninth generation of the family still own, manage and live on the estate.

Rent Table Ireland
An c1800 'rent table' at Bantry House. A landlord sat at one side, the tenant with his rent at the opposite side. The table is on a tripod, and can be swivelled around. The tenant put his rent into one of the little drawers, and spun the table top around, so the full drawer ended up in front of the landlord. I'm totally geeking out on Far & Away today traveling in Ireland! Could you imagine paying your rent or mortgage like that in today's world?
